GREEK CROSS MEANING
Prior to its use in Christianity, the Greek Cross had ancient origins in Egypt where, Pythagoras of Samos, a mathematician and astronomer, used the symbol with equal length arms to represent the platonic elements of air, fire, water, and earth.
The cross was later adopted by the Greek Church to represent the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, like the Latin Cross. However, unlike its Latin counterpart, it symbolizes the church itself, not the cross on which Jesus died. Each arm of the cross represents the spreading of the gospel to the North, South, East, and West.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
